这个地方是滇池东岸的宏仁村，我1974年第一次来到这里。那时候我是一个知识青年，宏仁村当时是一个普通的农村，村子四周全是稻田与蔬菜地，还有藕田和水塘。上个世纪90年代，我再次来这里做人类学田野调查。当时这里还是农业区，但城市化的脚步已经越来越近。进入本世纪以来，在短短的几年内，这里变成了一个没有耕地的村庄，最后成了所谓的“城中村”。在国家用城市化来消灭这个乡土社区的时候，农民也用自己的城市化来应对冲击。从2005年开始，村民们在老村庄的边上，盖起了一座现代化的居民区，村民将它称之为宏仁新村。可是谁也没想到，新村建成的那天，就是拆迁开始的一天。

2010年5月，昆明市政府发动了大规模城中村改造，宏仁新村和老村都在被拆的范围，宏仁村人从此走上抵抗拆迁的道路。我和一些同事和学生受村民的请求，也参与了他们的抵抗，这部电影，记录了宏仁村民保卫他们家园的经历。

Hongren is a village on the eastern shore of Dianchi, a like outside ofKunming, Yunnan Province. The region used to be surrounded by fields of paddyrice, vegetables and lotus. In early 2000s, the Eastern shore of Dianchiwitnessed the disappearance of arable lands. It has thus become an “urbanvillage,” an enclave within a megalopolis. While the rural community is beingexterminated by forced urbanization, the villagers had their own way ofurbanization. Since 2005, the villagers have been working to build a moderncommunity, adjacent to their old one. But the local government suddenly decidedto demolish this new community, on the very day of its completion.

A citywide policy was launched in May 2010, “urban village reconstruction,”which targeted places such as Hongren, both the new community and the oldvillage. The Hongren residents launched their resistance as well. A group ofanthropological scholars and students were invited to participate in theirresistance.
